It’s been a six year tradition, with this being the seventh year.  The tradition, you ask?  The Perseid meteor shower!  This is an annual event in which the Swift-Tuttle comet releases much debris into our atmosphere, and we see the results in the form of a meteor shower.  The comets will appear to emanate from the constellation Perseus.  I’ve never really known too much about those specific details before, but I just look into the sky and try to see what I can.

Sometimes it is easy to forget that beauty can mean a lot in airsoft, and there are truly some well-crafted, classic pieces out there. One of them is the new DBoys Bolt Action Kar 98 Mauser Carbine, a WWII style rifle. It is one of the mos beautiful new items we’ve acquired in awhile, and we are passing the great opportunity to own this product onto you!

As you may have noticed, the front page images have been updated!  Where there used to be “Bargain Bin” and “Sniper Rifles” graphics, which were slightly outdated, there are now new images for Airsoft Shotguns and a better image for Sniper Rifles.  This definitely looks better than the graphics up before (although those were still good, too!), and reflects the direction this company is headed.  We are sure you will like these new images and the other changes we are making to the site in the near future.  Slow and steady wins the race!

We at EastCoastAirsoft love interacting in the online social world, primarily through Facebook.  Of course, it does us no good if we are the only ones talking, and we want to hear what YOU think about any and all aspects of our operations or of airsoft in general.  We would greatly appreciate if you could Like, Share, Google +1, or Tweet some of the best products you see on the site.  You can also communicate with us directly through Facebook or by sending a tweet to our Twitter account.  There’s no shortage of ways to reach out!

We carry many products that can be neatly tucked away in a certain category, but there are others where there is no clear category.  This may be because we do not have a specific category for a branded product or because it is not a type we have listed (for example, not an AK, SCAR, M16 variant, etc.)  Given that there is a lot of standardization in airsoft, in that a lot of players prefer to use M16s, it can really make you stand out and even give you an advantage to use something else.

It’s that time of the year again, one that happens quite frequently on an annual basis.  It’s a new month, which if you really think about it is like a mini New Year.  Great opportunities for change and improvement, as well as more airsoft playing.  Perhaps more importantly, this is also the month that summer ends and school begins.  Since most airsoft players are younger, then it is likely that you are currently facing the reality that you’ll need to return to school proximately.  It is a harsh realization indeed, but one that everybody has to deal with.  Just know that school is ultimately preparing you for a better life in the future, and the knowledge that you gain from education enriches you in many ways beyond career acquisition skills.  So enjoy this month, and make the most of the rest of this legendary year of 2012!

It’s been awhile since I wrote about a specific category, but today feels like a great day for talk of some grenade shells.  Right now we have three unique types of grenade shells, and while that may sound like a relatively limited selection, each type of shell is so versatile it is truly all you need.  There is even a product that simulates large shells for the ultimate in simulated fighting.  Make sure to check out the section today for the best availability and most up to date information!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Gas airsoft pistols are awesome!  I’ve seen them take down full-blown AEGs in my time, and there is something elegant and beautiful about someone dual-wielding a pair of semi-automatic Glocks.  That is why I’m always happy to see when another new type of gas airsoft pistol comes in, and the one we have today is the HFC M92 Full Metal Gas Pistol.

I reviewed an awesome Echo1 product yesterday, and while admittedly I can’t say this instilled as much excitement in me as the awesome RedStar Counter Sniper Rifle, this product is still amazing and more appropriate for traditional players who use automatic AEGs as their primary airsoft gun.  Just like with the CSR, this gun has many features I’ve never encountered on an airsoft gun before, so it is absolutely worth considering as a new AEG to add to your arsenal, or even to replace your current product.
